My name is Olga Walsh, and a mother of a four year old boy. I am originally from Mexico, and came to the United States almost fifteen years ago to gain a better education and better opportunities in life. I have been living in Tracy for 10 years. I recently obtained my Early Childhood Education Teacher Certificate at Delta College, and I am now working towards my Bachelor in Child Development. I have been working with children since I came to this country, as a Private Nanny and as a Bilingual Aide at Banta School District.Being a home childcare Provider gives me the opportunity to be with my family, and at the same time interact with other children and have the opportunity to offer an environment based in all the domain of the four milestones (social-emotional, cognitive, creative, physical) by using age appropriate activities in a fun way of learning. Working with children has been very rewarding and an exciting experience to me, it is amazing all the things we learn from children every day, but I still think that I have a long journey to go as a person, teacher and as a mother; reason why I became an active member of the board for the San Joaquin County Family Child Care Association, and also I am a member of the California Association for Family child Care. By being part of these associations gives me the opportunity to attend different workshops and conferences in order to offer a quality childcare service to the community. My mission as a mother and as a preschool teacher is to encourage children's natural curiosity through hands-on activities and play, within a safe and home like environment
